Its hard to say, databases can help with some information that the others cant find.

Yes, it is good to use various ways to gather information, especially for facts.

What benefits do you get when using different search facilities to search for resources related to your topic?

Different search facilities have their own advantages, and depending on the information and sources requires, some are more useful. For example, subject directories are very specific, while Google has a wide variety of results.

How do you feel about using site feeds in your blog?

It is somewhat useful as i'm updated without having to go to the source directly to check for changes.

Abt Practical 3..

i kinda forgot what took place in the lesson except tt i was desperately trying to find a source using Google Scholar, which seemed like a total waste of time.

Were you impressed by google’s search functions/features? Why?

Google's search features such as boolean operators are useful for controlling the results, but i wouldn't say i'm impressed.

How do you feel about participation in discussion forum? Is it helpful for your research? Do you feel anxious about talking to others you do not know?

I feel a little uncertain, as im not exactly sure what i should be posting. But the people there are quite knowledgeable, and have the necessary resources for those who need information.

Why must you do citation and bibliography?

It is important to accurately cite your references to avoid being accused of plagiarism. A bibliography is also useful for others to follow up on your sources for more information.

Week 2

Back on Tuesday, we were taught about the different purposes of websites and also more about using of search facilities more effectively. We were made to choose a topic for our assignment, and i decided on cyber-bullying. On that day itself, i did some research and found some useful pages. Not quite sure wad else is to be done, guess i have to wait till next lesson.

I use Facebook a lot, read science fiction/fantasy novels, listen to music and play games on the Xbox360, such as Halo and Gears of War.
My favorite singers are Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne.
Favorite TV programme currently would be Heroes, South Park and One Piece.
I mostly go to Facebook or use Google and MSN.
